I have read the story of Jesus many times. It is found in the first four books of the New Testament in the Bible.
Jesus was a real man who lived about 2,000 years ago. He traveled and taught a message of love, forgiveness, and reconciliation with God. As he traveled, he healed people of various physical and mental illnesses.
I often wondered how his life would have been different if he had been a contemporary of mine. What if he had been born in 1948 in the middle of the United Stated?
This is my retelling of his story in a mid-twentieth century setting.
